LeBron James' Heat Decision: How The New York Newspapers Reacted (PHOTOS, SLIDESHOW)

New York Papers Tar And Feather LeBron
|

The local papers sent LeBron James a message today on behalf of all New Yorkers: We didn't want you anyway.

Yes, in true New York fashion, after spending months begging and pleading with James to sign with the Knicks (or the Nets a distant second), praising him, calling him King, spending our severely depleted tax dollars (!) on commercials to bring him here, we have now officially turned our backs on the superstar.

To Knicks fans, LeBron will now be Reggie Miller, Michael Jordan, Pat Riley and, I don't know, let's say P.J. Brown, rolled into one. He'll be heckled and hollered at, and reminded every time he loses that he should've played in the Garden.

So LeBron, if you're reading, take a look at how our hometown papers are talking about you, and just know that there's a whole lot more where that came from.
