After stopping the private Latin School from building a soccer field in Lincoln Park, a group of residents was unable to stop the Chicago Park District from moving forward to complete the project on its own.

On Wednesday, a Cook County Circuit judge denied Protect Our Parks' emergency motion to stop the Park District from holding a special meeting later in the day. Then at the meeting, park commissioners voted unanimously to finish the field and reimburse Latin School up to $2 million in costs incurred installing the artificial-turf field.
