A woman in Lake Worth was arrested Monday after allegedly stabbing a man because "she was sick of cooking for him," according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Lisa Cherry, 46, was in a verbal argument with an unidentified male when she started drinking and throwing food, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The victim took away her beer and told her that he was going to "cut her pony tail off if she didn't stop throwing things."

Police say Cherry then grabbed a knife and cut the phone line inside the house.

When the victim tried to get the knife away from her, Cherry stabbed the man in the left hand, according to the police report. His injury was treated on the scene and he refused to go to the hospital.

The victim's sister witnessed the stabbing and provided a written statement to a Palm Beach Sheriff's deputy.

As the deputy tried to speak with Cherry, she attempted to run down Pine Street and 12th Avenue to flee.

Cherry is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is being held at Palm Beach County Jail on $1,000 bond.
