Online Buddies , parent company of gay dating site Manhunt, announced this week that it has purchased the popular gay social networking app Jack'd.

The acquisition reportedly makes Online Buddies the largest company in the world with technology apps that focus on men seeking to connect with other men.

"Online Buddies is a pioneer in gay social networking, so I have no doubt they're the right people to continue growing Jack'd," Yosuke Matsuda of Lucid Dreams, LLC, the app's creator, said in a statement. "The team at Online Buddies is committed to improving the Jack'd user experience and they have the industry knowledge and experience to quickly turn around the product improvements and innovative features that our users want. Plus, they can provide the customer support that they deserve."

Jack'd is a free app and available for Android, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and averages 10,000 installations a day. Online Buddies' acquisition reportedly places the company's unique visitors at two million every day. Online Buddies now consists of Jack'd, Manhunt, and the Manhunt Daily blog.
