There was a healthy sprinkling of media figures on Forbes' annual list of the world's most powerful celebrities, which was released on Wednesday.

The magazine ranks celebrities based on money and fame.

"We define fame as media visibility in print, television, radio and online, plus social media power, which we measure by looking at each celebrity’s presence on Facebook and Twitter," writes Forbes' Dorothy Pomerantz, who runs the list.

So who's the world's powerful media figure, according to Forbes? She also happens to clock in as the world's second most powerful celebrity, and earns $165 million a year. The answer doesn't surprise us.

Below, take a look at the media figures who made the cut, and their salaries. Click over to Forbes for the full list of celebrities.
