TOP 5 FOR THURSDAY, JULY 5

1. Mini Golf At National Building Museum
Beginning today the National Building Museum opens its architect-designed indoor mini golf course. Cool. $5, all ages, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., through September 3

2. Phillips After 5 At The Phillips Collection
A relaxing, adult, relatively classy and quiet early evening in a museum. A nice holiday cleanse. 5 p.m., all ages, $12

3. Washerwoman At Black Cat
After sharing a stage with Shellac, Washerwoman is now Steve Albini's new favorite band. This D.C. two-piece pummels ears in the best possible way. The angry, brooding lovechild of PJ Harvey and Big Black. 8 p.m., 18+, $8

4. "North By Northwest" At AFI Silver Spring
This Hitchcock/Grant joint is a classic that deserves to be seen on the big screen. The plane scene doesn't seem nearly as impressive in home theaters. It is impressive. 6:50 p.m., all ages, $7 to $11.50

5. The Men At DC9
This Brooklyn-based four-piece plays loud, fun, agressive post-punk. Kudos to DC9 for listing the set time for each act. 8 p.m., all ages, $10

TOP 5 FOR THE NEXT 5 DAYS

Friday, July 6
Body Jam
at Looking Glass Lounge
If you're a fan of party jams, walls that sweat, small dance floors, late 80s/early 90s kitsch and no covers, head to Petworth for this monthly dance party. It may restore your faith in clubs that aren't clubs.

Saturday, July 7
Community Clothing and Book Swap
at Meridian Hill Park
A chance to get rid of some of your finer but no longer well fitting threads and books you no longer need since you got a Kindle. Meet your neighbors, don't spend money and take home some neat new old items.

Sunday, July 8
Full Metal Brunch
at Rock and Roll Hotel
Dress up in your favorite rock duds or whatever you wake up in and get back on the horse. It's what the hair metal 'musicians' this event is in honor of would have done.

Monday, July 9
Concert Fundraiser for National Family Farm Coalition
at Embassy of Venezuela's Bolivarian Hall
Produce, meats, cheeses, beer and wine from local famers and brewers. The ticket price goes back to support small farms. Feel good in multiple ways.

Tuesday, July 10
"The Addams Family"
at Kennedy Center
The well-received touring musical is heading to the beautiful Kennedy Center. Did you forget the movie's Hammer theme song?
