5 Budget Beauty Hacks That Will Keep You Fresh-Faced This Summer

In the last decade, words like "all-natural," "organic" and "100 percent pure" have been popping up on beauty products everywhere, on anything from moisturizers to makeup removers. While these natural alternatives may be great for your skin, they're not always great for your wallet. Former Miss USA Susie Castillo, author of Confidence Is Queen, shares some of her easy, homemade beauty treatments in the above #OWNSHOW video that can be made with natural ingredients you probably already have at home.

Acne Treatment
Every morning, Castillo drinks hot green tea with lemon juice as part of her daily beauty regime. As an added bonus, she uses the leftover slice of lemon to give herself a quick acne-fighting facial. "I take that lemon and I rub it on my face, I rub it on my chest, my neck, my back -- so wherever I'm breaking out," she says.

Let the lemon juice sit on your face for a few minutes before rinsing off. Castillo says she sees noticeable improvement by the next day.

Moisturizer
"One of the things I love to do as a nice little moisturizer, if I don't have to put makeup on that day, is do a little bit of olive oil," Castillo says. Just massage a small amount into your skin for instant hydration.

Hydrating Facial Mist
In a 4 oz. glass spray bottle, Castillo combines equal parts purified water and witch hazel with 15 drops of lavender and 15 drops of rose oil. "Both of those oils are super hydrating and great for your skin," she says.

Makeup Remover
Store-bought makeup remover can range anywhere from $10 to $50, but Castillo has an inexpensive (and chemical-free) version that's probably already in your pantry. Coconut oil, she says, removes every trace of makeup -- even stubborn waterproof cosmetics.

Makeup Brush Conditioner
After washing your makeup brushes, Castillo says to add just a touch of olive oil to the bristles. "It just makes it smooth," she says.
