March may be on its way out, but don't miss the opportunity to dive into a pot of fondue. New York is rife with opportunities to get your fix. Try the cheesy renditions at The Fondue Room at Café Select, Casimir, The Bourgeois Pig and 606 R&D.

Chef Shanna Pacifico is all about the details at Soho's new Back Forty West. An inventive salad of mustard greens, shaved celery root and roasted mushrooms is topped with crunchy puffed black rice. We loved the cheeky topping so much, we got the recipe to recreate it at home.

Spring picnics gained a new must-have item: Two-liter bottles of beer. While we love glass growlers, portability reigns at The Growler Station. Any of the 24 tap offerings at this new Greenwich Village spot can be dispensed into two-liter plastic containers.

Head to the West Village's Onegin with a menu strategy and you'll be rewarded. Pick selections such as the butter-packed chicken Pozharsky ($26) and handmade sour-cherry vareniki ($12) for a new appreciation of Russian food, eaten in an opulently decorated setting.

A scoop of ice cream drowned in a hot espresso shot is undeniably gratifying. Pick up a pint of Phin & Phebes's Vietnamese Iced Coffee flavor for a doubly delicious affogato.
