While nudity isn't an everyday occurrence on the CTA, it certainly happens from time to time--usually to the dismay of riders and CTA employees alike. But this weekend, some riders took advantage of a planned-in-advance pants-free trip.

The "No Pants Subway Ride" is a global event that was started in 2002 by Improv Everywhere in New York. Chicago of course, has not missed out on the national day of silliness.

Hundreds of pants-free people took the CTA from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday .To date, the event takes place in over 50 cities around the world.

Check out some photos from the ride here. All photos are courtesy of Ross Guthrie. For more photos, check out Guthrie's Flickr account.
