Hoping for help eradicating its most alarming invasive species, the state of Florida invited the general public into the everglades for a snake-hunting contest called the Python Challenge. The month-long hunt drew some 800 participants, 749 of whom are amateurs who don't hold python-hunting permits. Good luck, everyone -- and follow the Python Challenge here.
