Sam Champion Engaged: 'Good Morning America' Weatherman Talks Wedding, Boyfriend (VIDEO)

A giddy Sam Champion dished on his engagement and upcoming wedding during Monday's "Good Morning America."

News of Champion's engagement to his longtime boyfriend Rubem Robierb broke last week in a New York Times' Vows column about the wedding of MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts. Roberts became the first cable news anchor to marry someone of the same sex. Champion became the first co-host of a network morning show to publicly announce he is gay.

Robierb visited Champion on the "GMA" set on Monday as host George Stephanopoulos asked about the couple's plans.

Champion described Robierb as the "most wonderful, giving, loving caring person. I'm lucky I am so so lucky to have someone like this in my life."

After news of Champion's engagement broke, Twitter lit up with congratulatory messages. Stephanopoulos asked how it felt to "feel all the love" on Twitter.

Champion said it felt like a small town. He said, "We walked out on the street and everyone was like 'hey congratulations!'"
