“Late Night” host Seth Meyers praised an “addled and deranged” Donald Trump on Thursday over his “concise and thoughtful” post about Jeffrey Epstein.
“I’m just fucking with you, look at how long this is!” Meyers voiced alongside a screenshot of the president’s lengthy rant, where he announced that he signed the bill to force the release of files tied to the late convicted sex offender.
Meyers declared that Trump’s use of one of his “big words” — “respectively” — is a sign that he’s “spinning out.”
“If things get any worse, his next post is going to say, ‘Heretofore I have toiled many fortnights in quiet obscurity to secure the release of these most precious documents and make known henceforth that I was not friends with, and thus never visited, Jeff and the island, respectively,’” Meyers quipped.
Meyers reminded viewers that Trump has previously dismissed the Epstein files as “fake” and — in a July post to his Truth Social platform — claimed that the files were written by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton as well as the “losers and criminals” of the Biden administration.
Neither Obama, Clinton nor Biden was in office when Epstein was arrested and the files were seized, he noted.
“You know who was in office? You were,” said Meyers, directing his message to Trump. “You want us to believe that Hillary, Obama and Biden snuck into the DOJ while everyone was asleep and put your name in a bunch of documents? For one thing, Biden’s not that slick. If the files were up one flight of stairs, toast! He would be toast! He’s not exactly Tom Cruise in ‘Mission Impossible.’”
