If Jonathan Swift is looking down at us from a Gulliver-like POV, he'd be pleased to know his classic tale is still getting nods in pop culture today. In St. Vincent's just-released video for "Cheerleader," director Hiro Murai takes the story of a man very far outside of his element and rethinks it as a giant Annie Clark who, we gather, does not want to be a cheerleader no more. As for the normal-sized Annie Clark, you can catch her outside her element again on "Gossip Girl"'s Valentine's Day episode and the latest episode of "Portlandia."
