Jayson Boebert called his ex-wife's move "cruel and unfair" and says it amounts to "a prison sentence to keep me from my family."
The order also protects three of the former couple’s four sons.
The congresswoman's ex-husband was arrested Tuesday in connection with an altercation the couple had Saturday night at a Colorado restaurant.
"I wish this all hadn't happened," Jayson Boebert said. "I should have handled it more responsibly."

The Congress member also wants people to know that Jayson Boebert "doesn’t drink beer out of a glass, just as much as he doesn’t drink Bud Light.”
The Congress member cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split with her husband, Jayson Boebert.
