Marion Hedges Shopping Cart Attack Video Shows Achilles Baskin Try To Stop Assault (VIDEO)

WATCH: New Video Shows Teen Tried To Prevent Shopping Cart Attack

A surveillance video stemming from October's shocking shopping cart attack that left 47-year old Marion Hedges in critical condition has emerged, revealing a third teenager attempting to prevent the assault before running away.

The New York Post posted the video showing 14-year old Achilles Baskin physically trying to take the cart from two twelve-year old boys on the third-floor parking garage of the East Harlem Target shopping center. Baskin describes the incident:

They wanted me to help them throw the cart, but I said no. I was trying to stop them. I was trying to put the cart near me. But they had the advantage because there were two of them against one...I left -I didn’t want to do what they wanted me to do.

An initial surveillance video showed the other two boys lifting the cart above the guard rail, which eventually plummeted on Hedges' head. Both have pleaded guilty to the assault.

Since the attack, Hedges, a philanthropist and mother, has publicly forgiven the boys and expressed her concerns about the economic and social conditions the troubled youths grew up in.

Early January, a person close to Hedges described her condition, "She's not the same person. Talking to her is like talking to a 9-year-old or a 90-year-old. She gets emotional and forgets things quickly. There is short-term memory loss."
