A 6-year-old girl was fatally shot Saturday afternoon -- one of five individuals wounded within one hour in separate shootings across the city and one of at least seven killed by gun violence over the weekend as of Sunday morning -- in Chicago.

Aliyah Shell was playing on her front porch with her parents around 3:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of South Springfield Avenue in the city's Little Village neighborhood when a pickup truck pulled up to the house and a man inside the vehicle began shooting at the house, NBC Chicago reports.

A neighbor told the Chicago Tribune that she would remember Aliyah as a "really sweet" girl.

"Every time she's come over, she'd eat the bananas," the girl recalled to the Tribune. "She was a good girl. It wasn't her fault."

A handgun was retrieved from the crime scene and two males were taken into custody to be questioned in the shooting incident, CBS Chicago reports. According to the Tribune, they are both said to be affiliated with the Latin Kings street gang. As of Saturday evening, no charges had been filed.

With temperatures on the rise in Chicago, the city experienced a spate of shootings. All told, seven people have been killed and dozens wounded in gun violence in Chicago this weekend, according to Fox Chicago.

Saturday, Adrian Cruz, 24, was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting on the 5900 block of South Fairfield Avenue, the block of his residence, around 7 p.m., according to NBC, and was later pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital. At 7:50 p.m., Vincent Fitts, 22, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in the 800 block of East 79th Street.

Around 10:30 p.m., Jeremy Anthony, 24, was shot in the back while inside a vehicle in the 6300 block of South Ellis Avenue, CBS reports. Anthony was pronounced dead on arrival at the nearby University of Chicago Medical Center.

Bert Lindsey, 36, was shot on the 7500 block of South Wolcott Avenue around 1:20 a..m. Sunday while at a back yard party. He was pronounced dead within an hour at Advocate Christ Medical Center, the Tribune reports.
