Bay Area Food Bank Helps Alabama Families Affected By The Oil Spill
|

In Bayou La Batre, Alabama, fishermen are forced out of work by the BP oil spill, leaving numerous families without income.

To meet the immediate needs of Alabama fishing families, the Bay Area Food Bank is providing free canned foods, fresh produce and more. At a recent drop off at St. Margaret Catholic Church, the Army National Guard helped distribute 10,000 pounds of food to struggling families.

The Bay Area Food Bank also serves communities in coastal counties of Mississippi and Florida.
