Betty White National Zoo Event Sold Out, But There Is A Waiting List

WASHINGTON -- Are you a slowpoke RSVPer who's been hoping to see Betty White when she comes to the National Zoo next Friday?

Bad luck. Almost as soon as the zoo announced that slots were available to see the animal-loving, tap-dancing actress talk about her work with animals and sign her books (fellow animal lovers will be especially interested in "Betty & Friends: My Life at the Zoo"), the event filled up.

The 90-year-old actress, who endorsed President Obama on Saturday, is speaking at another sold-out engagement on Thursday. More tickets to that event may become available -- the Smithsonian says to call (202) 633-3030 or email CustomerService@SmithsonianAssociates.org to get on the Betty White wait list.
