30 Days Of Holiday LGBT Giving: Bisexual Resource Center

30 Days Of Holiday LGBT Giving: Bisexual Resource Center
|

Note: This holiday season, in lieu of a traditional holiday gift guide, we'll be featuring a different LGBT organization each day for our "30 Days Of LGBT Giving."

The bisexual community is often misunderstood by both the LGBT and straight communities and that's what drives the Bisexual Resource Center's work.

BRC is the nation's oldest bi organization in the country, having been founded in 1985 by a group of activists who saw a need for such a group. The Boston-based organization accomplishes its mission of increasing bi visibility and providing support for bisexuals through its informational materials and many affirming support groups.

But the group ensures inclusivity beyond just the one label. BRC says they use bisexual as an umbrella term for those "who recognize and honor their potential for sexual and emotional attraction to more than one gender (pansexual, fluid, omnisexual, queer, and all other free-identifiers)."

To learn more about this amazing organization, be sure to check out their website, and find them on Facebook and Twitter @BRC_Central.
