HLN Surges Like Crazy: See The Top 30 Cable News Programs For July 2011
|

Another month, another boring old list of cable news ratings. In July, Fox News cleared the field as usual, racking up the top--wait. It didn't?

No, it didn't. The story of July 2011 is not the story of Fox News' dreary domination of the cable field. It's the story of HLN's unbelievable surge in ratings. The reason, of course, was the Casey Anthony trial, which HLN has ridden to record-busting numbers for months. July was HLN's best month ever in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo. Just one stat? Nancy Grace's ratings were up a full 98% from the same period in 2010. These huge numbers mean that lots of shows that normally get nowhere near the top of the cable news list are all over July's slideshow.

Elsewhere, the ratings were fairly stable. How did individual programs fare? Below, see the top 30 cable programs of July 2011. As usual, all ratings come from the Nielsen agency.
