When Somerset Collection CityLoft -- a sampling of high-end stores from the fancy Somerset mall in Troy -- returns to downtown Detroit this summer, it will open in a new location and bring with it several independent stores and artisans it plans to locate in a tented space nearby.

CityLoft is to open at 1261 Woodward Ave., a block south of last year's location, for three days a month this summer starting at 11 a.m. June 28.

The new space, which is under construction, is 6,000 square feet and represents a $300,000 investment, said Nathan Forbes, managing partner of the Forbes Company, which owns and manages Somerset.
