Columbus Day Parade 2010 In New York (PHOTOS)

The 81st annual Columbus Day Parade took place in the streets of NYC today.

The parade, the world's largest Italian-American celebration, took place from 47th to 72nd Streets this afternoon in Manhattan. The Columbus Day Parade has been celebrated in New York every year since 1929 and typically attracts about 35,000 people.

Columbus Day commemorates Christopher Columbus' arrival in America which took place on Oct. 12, 1492.
