An 18-year-old student is recovering after being hit by a bullet during a school bus shooting on Chicago's South Side Monday night.

Police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines told the Chicago Sun-Times three or four men took aim at the school bus near West 62nd Street and South Stewart Avenue about 7:53 p.m. and opened fire.

The bus was moving during the attack, according to ABC Chicago. NBC Chicago said the gunmen's bullets shattered two windows and left a hole on the side of the bus. The shot to the bus' flank is the one that struck the male student in the leg.

The incident followed a basketball game between Dunbar High School and Englewood High School, near the site of the shooting. The Tribune reports the school bus driver took the student to Provident Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

Detectives are investigating but have no one in custody yet.
