FLINT, Michigan -- Mild-mannered and low-key, new Emergency Manager Michael Brown doesn't have the polished, look-at-me personality typical of some politicians.
Brown is known in many circles as a consensus builder and negotiator, someone who can find a middle ground and get things done without the messy, public battles so often part of Flint's political history.
But Brown's demeanor doesn’t mean he won't get the job done after taking office today. All eyes are on how quickly he'll begin to wield his new powers over city government.
