How To Focus On The Work That Matters

Its still a work in progress - im working on the feel as its a bit rough in areas, getting the clock right isnt easy, you cant hold it there and get it right - i have tried and actually got a different sort of image I will paste later but this is the one I like, the lomo effect works well here, high contrast for the feel which is what I wanted - its more about the intent of the image rather than super detailing. I am not sure the clock is 100% right, I wanted a slight angle here like a cocked head and the size is pretty right for my head but... Im not sure. Why?Dont know really, wanted to do some more self portrait work and for some reason this came to me, Magritte .. yes maybe or maybe its being on call and working all night, time is something im concious of right now, Hericletus put it best for my thinking - ""Everything flows and nothing abides; everything gives way and nothing stays fixed. You cannot step twice into the same river, for other waters and yet others, go flowing on. Time is a child, moving counters in a game; the royal power is a child's."" Then againt he was a fatalist :)Oh and what does veritum dies aperit mean? SImple - its time discovers the truth (the quote is attributed to Seneca)

How can you spend time wisely?

We all wonder where the hours go. There's a good reason for that — we're absolutely terrible at remembering how we really spend our time.

Via What the Most Successful People Do at Work: A Short Guide to Making Over Your Career:

Hunting through data from the American Time Use Survey, conducted annually by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and other time diary projects, I came to the inescapable conclusion that how we think we spend our time has little to do with reality. We wildly overestimate time devoted to housework. We underestimate time devoted to sleep. We write whole treatises glorifying a golden age that never was; American women, for instance, spend more time with their children now than their grandmothers did in the 1950s and 60s.

Nowhere is this truer than with work. Are you a workaholic spending 75+ hours at work a week? Then you're probably off by as much as 25 hours.
