Former gold medalist Nastia Liukin has offered others the chance to live like an Olympian.
The retired gymnast listed her Boston apartment on Airbnb so two guests could stay there while she’s working as a sports correspondent at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. And the proceeds will go to charity.
“While I’m in Brazil rooting for the next generation of gymnastic superstars in person, I’m putting my place up on Airbnb!” the 26-year-old wrote in the listing, which has an August 8 start date. “In fact, you might even see me, from my own living room, while flipping the channels on my flat-screen TV!”
The profits from the stay are going to the Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation, which helps provide health care and education solutions to families in need and also promotes entrepreneurship.
The apartment, which was listed for $1,250 a night, definitely does not sound too shabby. The one bedroom, one bath dig looks fit for an Olympic champion. And the the building itself? Well there’s a pool, fitness center and movie room ― yes, a movie room ― for the guests to enjoy.
The place is located “right on” the Boston Harbor so it’s probably a hop, skip and a jump away from some good clam chowder. But, as Liukin wrote, it’s all for the guests to discover.
“As with all my guests, I kindly ask that you treat my home as if it were your own, but most of all, have fun and explore the city I love so much,” she wrote.
Unfortunately, the place doesn’t seem to be up for grabs anymore. But we’re completely jealous of the lucky guests!
