Gustavo Cerati's Son, Benito, Releases First Single 'Automatica Lunatica' For Zero Kill Music Project (VIDEO)

Gustavo Cerati’s legacy continues.

With an eclectic sound and a Bowie-esque look, the Argentine music legend’s son, Benito, recently released the video for his first single “Automática Lunática” under the project name, Zero Kill.

Fans of the former Soda Stereo lead-man may not be surprised that the icon’s son is following in his father’s footsteps. The video was under the cinematographic direction of Diego Salpurido and included musical accompaniment from many of Gustavo’s old friends. (Check out the video above)

“Thanks to my DAD, my family and friends, to Mariana Grassi, Tweety, Mavi Diaz, Nico Parker, Palomo, Ale Bataloff, Eli Gora, Blackfin, my band,” the young Cerati writes below the YouTube video. “[Thanks] to my film crew for accompanying me in this new experience, it was great working with every one of you.”

According to Argentine newspaper La Nación, Benito demonstrated interest in his father’s work at an early age -- even helping his father compose the 2007 single “Adiós.”

For the past three years, Benito's musical career has felt the absence of his legendary father, who suffered a stroke in May 2010 after a concert in Venezuela. Despite remaining comatose the singer’s mother remains hopeful of his recovery.

“We are with him every day, by his side supporting him. We’ve noticed some responses, small perhaps, but responses,” El Universal quotes Clark telling Colombia’s RCN Radio.

In the same report by the Mexican newspaper, Clark also mentions her grandson.

“He is very special. He reminds me so much of when Gustavo was a child,” Clark added.
