Leslie Jones turned up the volume on “The Daily Show” Thursday to ride President Donald Trump for downplaying slavery. (Watch the video below.)
The administration’s whitewashing of history accelerated last week. The National Park Service ordered the removal of exhibits that highlight slavery, including a Civil War-era photo of a former slave with a thicket of scars on his back.
But the former “SNL” star’s first order of business was to address Trump’s complaint in August that the “woke” Smithsonian highlighted “how bad slavery was.”
“Oh, are we hurting your little feelings, YOU BITCH!?” Jones screamed. “Well, Mr. President, slavery feels bad to talk about because slavery WAS BAD!”
“I don’t think museums go far enough,” she continued. “If you don’t leave an African American history museum weeping and wanting to give your closest black friends reparations, then they didn’t do the museum right.”
“And let me say this, by the way: Forty acres and a mule is not enough anymore,” Jones said, referring to the short-lived compensation pledge for freed slaves.
“I want 40 acres and a trust fund, how about that? Matter of fact, throw in the mule if you want to. I need something to carry my money.”
“Teaching slavery is not woke,” she pointed out. “It’s history.”
