Yesterday, I started pre-gaming Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim at Soho Beach House for the Cosmopolitan en Español 6th annual Summer Splash fashion show.

Having skipped the two-hour cocktail party before the show, I found myself arriving to a very crowded poolside reception. Hurrying to find a seat, I politely pushed my way through the crowd to get to the ‘VIP’ area containing the seats and gift bags. But being two hours late means I lost a seat and got left out of a gift bag, but as luck would have it, not a cocktail. There were complimentary Cîroc cocktails, and there was no bar line. Just a little after 10 p.m., emcee Alejandra Espinoza of Univision stepped out and welcomed everyone to the show and after a few words I missed on the account of tweeting away, the show started.

Nationally known designers including Barraca Chic, Eberjey, Luli Fama, Maya Swimwear, Samsara Imports by designer Lissette Atassi and Zingara sent out looks completed by official sponsors COVERGIRL and Pantene -- heat and humidity resistant make-up and hair being important in Miami. Once the show ended, Latin pop duo Domino Saints performed, but I was ready to go. So once again I politely pushed my way back out through the crowd. -- Jipsy
