Pee-Wee Herman's Birthday: Paul Reubens Turns 60 Years Old Today

Can You Believe He's 60?
|

It's hard to believe the man behind Pee-Wee Herman celebrates his 60th birthday today!

Of course, the iconic character has helped comedian Paul Reubens build a reputation as the ultimate comeback kid. Not only did Reuben's Pee-Wee enjoy both a network television and feature film run during his mid-1980s heyday, but after some time out of the limelight (not to mention that infamous adult theater arrest), he was also resurrected as the star of a 2010 Broadway show and subsequent HBO special.

In addition, Reubens himself has appeared in films as diverse as 1999's "Mystery Men" and 2001's "Blow," as well as in TV shows like "30 Rock."

Of his most famous creation, Reubens has said, "If anyone would have told me I’d be doing this 30 years later, I would have laughed. But now, I plan on doing it 30 years from now, when I’m 140."

Believe it.

Happy birthday, Pee-Wee Herman!
