Many Americans crossed the border to see Pope Francis finish his whirlwind tour of Mexico in nearby Ciudad Juarez on Wednesday.
The leader of the Catholic church visited a jail in the north Mexican city and waded into the immigration debate during a huge open-air mass. Tens of thousands also watched him on the U.S. side of the border, as he blessed migrants in America. The Pope had earlier called on young people to resist drug cartels during his six-day trip.
The highly political tour is the latest from the "People's Pontiff," who has spent the past year entreating the public to tackle many of society's ills, from climate change to Islamophobia.
