Gay Pride in New York; 40 Years after Stonewall

40 Years after Stonewall, we have many more rights to achieve, the most important being gay marriage, equality, and making sure that every gay person does in fact feel comfortable coming out.

I bounced around on Sunday, taking pictures and watching the diversity. Strangely, 40 years after the protests spurned by drag queens, hustlers and the mob, Pride is a stayed affair, and most in the gay community feel it's not needed. We're proud every day. The street is filled with out-of-towners. New Yorkers hide in loft apartment parties.

40 Years after Stonewall, we have many more rights to achieve, the most important being gay marriage, equality, and making sure that every gay person does in fact feel comfortable coming out. We have such a long way to go. I'm equally elated, dumbstruck and overjoyed.
