Detroit -- A fourth cab driver shot in the city within a month is dead.

Detroit police said two men held the Checker Cab driver at gunpoint in a robbery attempt at about 4:20 a.m. Tuesday at a Mobil gas station near the intersection of Harper Avenue and Conner Street on the city's near east side. One of the suspects fired shots at the driver, who then returned fire.
