Strangers Help French Woman Overseas Get Home After Sister Is Killed In Paris Attacks | HuffPost

A crowdfunded campaign garnered support from generous people across the globe.

A French woman is able to return home to her family during their time of mourning, thanks to the generous help of friends and strangers.

France native Jenny Boissinot was traveling abroad in New Zealand when she learned that her sister, Chloe, was among the 129 victims of Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris.

The 23-year-old received a phone call early Monday morning confirming that Chloe, 25, died as a result of the attacks, according to the New Zealand Herald.

Local friends in New Zealand and France started a crowdfunded campaign to make sure she could return home and be with her family.

The campaign, titled "Solidarité pour Jenny et Cyril" (Solidarity for Jenny and Cyril), garnered support from strangers across the globe. Jenny had been traveling for about two months and will return to France with her partner, Cyril.

Nearly 130 friends and international supporters raised over $3,000 to send Jenny and Cyril home. Strangers from around the world were drawn to the campaign and showed their support for the Boissinots.

"I don’t know Chloé or her sister Jenny, but the love story linking these two sisters really tugs at my heartstrings. I wish the family lots of courage and please allow me to cry alongside you," reads a translated comment left by one of the campaign's supporters.

The Telegraph reports that Chloe was dining with her boyfriend at Le Petit Cambodge when gunmen opened fire in the restaurant. Her partner was reportedly shot in the hand and was taken to the hospital.

A friend of Jenny's told the Herald she was thankful for all of the support from her local New Zealand friends and others worldwide.

"She's very distraught, as you can imagine," her friend Patrick Clairet said. "The main people she wants to see now are her family who are in France."

Chloe and Jenny's mother, Babette Boissinot, also took to social media to express her grief.

"You are Chloe… my girl… my victim of terrorism… there are hundreds of us mothers… I saw them all crying just like me… I am not alone. They are here too. And you have passed with their children. Continue to love life from up there… I love you… my darling my child. My heart is pained," reads a translation of her post.
