The "Today" show's Meredith Vieira scored the exclusive interview with David Goldman, the New Jersey father whose son, Sean, came home from Brazil on Christmas Eve. But Goldman didn't just pick "Today" because it's the #1 morning show in America: NBC News paid for the private jet to take him and his son home from Brazil.

The AP reports:

David Goldman and 9-year-old Sean Goldman landed in Orlando on a jet chartered by NBC. Later they were driven away in a caravan of three SUVs, heading to an unknown destination. They did not speak with reporters at the airport, but NBC broadcast an interview with the father and footage from the flight.

In the interview, which airs Monday on "Today" and Friday, January 8 on a special two-hour "Dateline," Goldman tells Vieira that his heart "has been breaking, and has been broken over and over, and over, and over, through this whole terrible ordeal."

He said that Sean was concerned about getting boots for the snow and a winter coat, and that he hopes his son "doesn't have nightmare of that day" when he was paraded through the streets of Brazil to return to the United States.

The "Dateline" special will include exclusive footage of David and Sean Goldman's trip back together from Brazil and their first days in the United States.
