7 Paths that Seed the Change: This Week In Daily Giving

This week at The Pollination Project, we recognize seven individuals from South America to East Africa that have projects that are literally seeding change and transformations. Youth in the Philippines are planting seeds to bring back indigenous plants while below-income families in Chicago grow fresh produce. With these like-minded individuals coming together, we are reminded that all it takes for long lasting impact is some tender loving care. And water.

Stacey Besser, National Animal Rights Day, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. Animal suffering as a result of direct human actions or consumerism is the focus in a ceremony and celebration.

Cesar Madrid, Sembrando Cusco, Cusco, Peru. A community wellness program provides the community with opportunity and insight into plant-based meals and fitness.

Jed Christian Sayre, Philippines Heirloom Vegetable Seeds Project, Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. Hybrid vegetable seeds give youth gardeners the means to bring back vital micronutrients alongside means to economic security.

Brenda Sanders, Eating for Life Workshop, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Low-income communities are given insight into plant-based diets through interactive cooking demonstrations.

Brian Vegah Viyof and Blaise Abongeh, Empowering Impoverished Families Through Sustainable Mushroom Cultivation (Pass Over the Seed Project), Bamenda, Cameroon. Farm families are trained on high yielding cultivation techniques for the oyster mushrooms.

Mercy Mugure Gichunge and Geoffrey Wachira, Ability Africa Magazine, Nairobi, Kenya. People living with disabilities are highlighted through success stories in a free, quarterly publication.

Kyla Farquhar, Estella Lofton's Garden Kenneth Holiday, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Families living below the poverty line are afforded a community garden with access to fresh produce.
