Arianna discussed the evolving role of media with JWT's Bob Jeffrey.

"At the heart of the Huffington Post is engagement, and if you think of it, that's really the main shift in how consumers consume news," she said. "We're don't just take it in, we share it, we pass it on."

Arianna explained how the Huffington Post was created to fit into this new idea of media consumption.

"That viral, social nature of news is what really moved me to want to create the Huffington Post, it's not just elites who have opinions, many people in the world do," she said.

Last week, the Huffington Post launched its social reading app for Facebook Timeline, so that users can seamlessly read and share articles through social media.
