Arianna discussed the issues surrounding job growth in America on Tuesday's Piers Morgan Tonight.
"For many, many years now we've seen the lives of middle class being much more precarious," she said. "The financial crisis since 2008... we've not been able to recover."
She also bemoaned the lack of urgency about the jobs crisis.
Comparing Hurricane Irene to jobs she said, "If we had Hurricane Jobs, if we had recognition that the job crisis has brought enormous devastation in the lives of millions, and we need to come together collectively - in our neighborhoods, in our communities, at the local, state and federal level - and really solve it, everything would be transformed."
