Gretchen Carlson got punked first thing in the morning on Monday's "Fox and Friends."
The Fox News host interviewed Max Rice, who was introduced as an unemployed college graduate and former Obama supporter.
It became clear, however, that things were off when Rice greeted her as "Miss USA" (Carlson pointed out that she had actually been Miss America) and explained that he switched his vote to Romney because he lost a basketball game. Carlson quickly grew stern, telling Rice, "It sounds like you're not being very serious about this."
She ended the interview after a few more questions. "I'm not sure that you're not ready for primetime yet with this interview," she said. TV Newser later reported that Rice appears to be a stand-up comedian, after finding one of his clips online.
He later told Raw Story that he answered a call for recent college graduates who are unemployed and planning to vote for Romney, and wanted to show that Fox News "is a fake news organization."
"They were just casting a part in a show," he said. "They were so stupid… I’m a kid messing around."
