FILE - This Feb. 1, 2012 photo shows the Facebook logo on a computer screen in Berlin. A published report says Facebook is seeking a valuation of $85 billion to $95 billion when it goes public in a few weeks. The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, said Thursday May 3, 2012 that the company plans to set the per-share price of its stock in the high $20s to mid $30s. This is a narrower range than the previously expected $75 billion to $100 billion. Facebook's initial public offering will be by far the largest Internet IPO ever, dwarfing even Google Inc.'s in 2004. (AP Photo/dapd, Timur Emek)

Facebook's Timeline feature highlights important milestones (anniversaries, graduations) from a user's past. So what would it look like if the Internet had a Timeline of its own -- and could we celebrate its birthday?

Online education company Grovo has organized the Internet's history into a Facebook Timeline, starting with the use of the @ symbol by a Florentine merchant in 1536. The timeline then jump to 1837, when Charles Babbage designed the first "computer." The list of important events stretches all the way to present day.

"Many can still recall their first professionally-questionable AOL email addresses, while others can date the first time they watched a YouTube video," Grovo's Facebook Timeline reads. "As we’ve grown, so too has the Internet - and that’s exactly what we hope to share with this project, calling out some of our favorite moments from the Internet’s storied, complex, fun and memorable history."

Did you use ill-fated Napster in 1999, or know the first blog was published in 1994? Do you remember being obsessed with MySpace and watching viral videos like "Charlie Bit My Finger" over and over again? Scroll through the slideshow below to see some of the most memorable internet moments through the ages, or check out the full list (here). Then watch a hilarious clip comparing Facebook's timeline to an STD, or flip through 13 Facebook cover photos that will inspire you to update your timeline.
