Accused hit-and-run driver Karlie Tomica appeared in a Miami-Dade courtroom Friday to officially be charged with DUI manslaughter.

The self-proclaimed "party princess" was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death, DUI property damage, and resisting arrest without violence.

Tomica, a 20-year-old bartender at South Beach nightclub Nikki Beach, was three times over the legal limit driving home from work when she struck Shore Club executive chef Stefano Riccioletti in the wee hours of the morning January 28.

She was initially charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and bonded out of jail for $10,000, but blood alcohol test results returned this week increased the severity of charges.

Tomica appeared teary and shaken in court, often with a steadying hand from one of her attorneys. WSVN reports prosecutors asked that her bail be increased to $75,000, arguing in court that she not only killed Riccioletti but, when followed by a witness in another vehicle, "actively evaded the [Good Samaritan] and even made U-turns to attempt to lose the car following her."

The state attorney's motion contained gruesome details about the aftermath of the crash, reports CBS:

Tomica allegedly exited “the battered, bloody and flesh smattered vehicle,” and continued to ignore pleas to wait for the police.

When Miami Beach Police found Tomica, they said "brain or flesh particulate was apparent in her hair," and [she] "displayed indicia of impairment, as well as an odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage."

The judge set her bond at $77,000 according to NBC6, ordering Tomica under house arrest with a GPS monitor. The station also reports Tomica will have a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew and be required to attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week.

Prosecutors alleged in court that Tomica used a fake ID to drink, according to WSVN. Both she and Nikki Beach face separate lawsuits from Riccioletti's son and widow, who accuse the club of allowing her to consume alcohol underaged and then drive home.

"She needs to feel the pain that we are feeling," Riccioletti's wife, Patrizia Pesce, told CBS Miami. "She really hit him hard. And she destroyed him. It wasn’t easy to see him like that."

Tomica's attorney, Mark Shapiro, previously issued a statement saying that Tomica and her family were "heartbroken" and praying for Riccioletti's family.
