A sanitation truck struck and killed a young woman in Brooklyn Wednesday night.

Katharine Yun, 25, was crossing Broadway near Driggs in Williamsburg at about 7:15PM when the truck hit her.

She was pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center.

Kathy Dawkins, a spokeswoman for the Sanitation department, said the drivers of the truck were on duty and the incident is being investigated.

Yun, originally of Syosset, Long Island was a NYU graduate who recently spent a year in Japan teaching English.

A family friend, Sangyoon, who works at a Dyker Heights grocery store owned by Yun's parents, told The New York Daily News Yun recently moved back to the city for some excitement.

"She said it was more than Long Island," Sangyoon said.
