When seventh grader Kylie Murphy took a front-row seat at her Ohio school's talent show, she had no idea that she would play a leading role.
Kylie's dad recently finished an eight-month tour serving as a medic in the Navy in Afghanistan and decided to surprise his daughter at school, Fairlawn-Bath Patch reports. So, Kyle Murphy and his wife, Stacy, orchestrated a "fake" talent show, with the main performance being an emotional reunion between father and daughter.
"Our next performer is a young man who's played many roles," Principal Bill Karrigan told an auditorium full of students. He described Murphy as a husband, and someone who has helped the country.
When Murphy emerged with a bouquet of pink roses, Kylie had just three words to say.
"That's my daddy."
