Mary Lambert, the woman responsible for the chorus in the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis gay marriage anthem "Same Love," has now expanded her contribution into a full song of its own.

The Seattle-based singer recently performed the new version of her song, now titled "She Keeps Me Warm," during an in-studio performance at radio station KEXP. Now with added verses, violins and Lambert singing and playing the piano, "She Keeps Me Warm" is transformed into a fully-fleshed out ballad about love. Lambert, who is gay, has said in the past that she wrote the chorus about the struggles of growing up gay in an abusive Christian household.

The original "Same Love" has proven popular by staying on the charts, garnering more radio airplay after the overturning of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Prop 8. The song was recently certified platinum, while the music video nabbed an MTV Video Music Award nomination.
