MSNBC Names Abrams Permanent 9 P.M. News Host, Scarborough Morning Host
|

MSNBC said today that Dan Abrams, who has been the host of a 9 p.m. news hour called "Live with Dan Abrams" temporarily since July, will stay in the job permanently, leaving behind the managerial position he had occupied for a little over a year.

The move means that Joe Scarborough, who moved from prime time to host a show called "Morning Joe," will be the permanent replacement for Don Imus, who had the morning slot until he was fired in April over racially charged comments.

The changes bring a sense of permanence to the cable network's programming, which has been in some flux, as have its operations. MSNBC will complete a move from Secaucus, N.J., to 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan, NBC's headquarters, in mid-October.
