¿Alguna vez has mirado atentamente a tu perro a los ojos? No hablamos de un duelo de miradas, sino de prestar atención a los detalles de su anatomía.

Suren Manvelyan hizo el trabajo duro por nosotros. A los 16 años el armenio comenzó a tomar fotografías, pero fue en 2006, a sus 30, cuando se volvió profesional de este arte. En sus series sobre animales, las imágenes en close-up de Manvelyan capturan detalles tan intrincados que es difícil asimilar que son reales.

Este fotógrafo no se limita a retratar animales –su serie sobre humanos, titulada "Your Beautiful Eyes", ha recibido grandes alabanzas–, pero lo que hoy queremos mostrarte aquí son primeros planos de ojos de criaturas tan magníficas como un cocodrilo del Nilo, un gato siamés y un diminuto caracol.
