After Jeff Kahan lost his son to cancer, the grieving dad decided to bring life to kids battling life-threatening diseases.

He fulfills his mission -- and keeps his son, Josh's, memory alive -- by sponsoring an all-out prom (complete with a red carpet!) for patients at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, MyFoxPhilly.com reports.

"Tonight is the night that no one's sick," Kahan told the news source. "They're just kids, and that's what tonight's about, that they can remember that."

For children like 5-year-old Weston Keeton, who is waiting for both a lung and heart transplant, the black-tie event was just that.

"Even going out off the floor is a huge deal for him, so he is just so excited," Weston’s mom, Julie, told MyFoxPhilly.com. "He has talked about it all week, he has invited everyone to prom."
