Boy Genius Report, citing "a source close to Apple," claims that a big announcement is coming from Apple, Inc between the dates of Thursday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 6.

"Back in June of last year," Boy Genius Report points out, "Apple picked the dates of 24th to the 27th for its iPhone 4 weekend launch -- also a Thursday through Sunday."

These dates also coincide with Apple's rumored vacation "blackout," which will reportedly apply to select employees and will last for three weeks--from the last week of January into mid February, Apple Insider reports.

Similar rumors about employee vacation bans surfaced in May 2010, prior to the launch of the iPhone 4.

So what might Apple announce in February? Rumors seem to indicate that Apple is poised to unleash a Verizon iPhone, which would be CDMA-enabled. Some are calling this CDMA iPhone the next-generation iPhone, or simply iPhone 5.
