Whoopi Goldberg made an appearance on Fox News' "On The Record" Wednesday night, and, unsurprisingly, host Greta Van Susteren brought up her heated clash with Bill O'Reilly on "The View" last week.
Van Susteren asked why she and co-host Joy Behar had walked off the set when O'Reilly stated that "Muslims killed us on 9/11." "What's the matter, you can't take on Bill O'Reilly?" she asked.
"I don't want to have to take on Bill O'Reilly," she said. "I don't want to have to fight with anybody...[but] if he had said, 'all Irish people are drunks or all black people love fried chicken, it's the same thing to me."

Goldberg also said that, as soon as she had cursed on the air (she called O'Reilly's statement "bullshit"), she knew she had to leave.
"I knew I was past reason and that wasn't good...I was going to cuss him out and you can't do that," she said.
Van Susteren noted that she had written in her book about respecting other peoples' opinions, but asked if sometimes, an opinion was so offensive that it could not be reasonably argued with.
"If something offends you to the point where you can't have a civil conversation with them, get out of the way," Goldberg responded. "See, I know myself well enough to know that I was past the point of no return, and had I stayed there I would be--probably [would have] been--fired.
