Andre Ward no tomó bien la sugerencia que le hizo su próximo rival. Al contrario, lo hizo enojar.

Durante la presentación oficial de su encuentro pactado para el 16 de noviembre en California, el dominicano Edwin Rodríguez – número tres de los Supermedios por la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo – aseguró que no subiría al encordado si el actual monarca no acepta realizarse la prueba antidopaje avalada por la VADA.

“No se a donde quería llegar o porqué lo dijo de esa manera. Si tenía un problema con dudas sobre doping lo hubiera pedido en el contrato y no así”, dijo a HuffPost Voces muy molesto el peleador que logró superar dos lesiones (hombro y mano) que lo llevaron a cirugía y lo dejaron fuera de circulación por 12 meses.

Andre Ward, quien estuvo en ringside de la función que protagonizó Chávez contra Brian Vera narrando para HBO, aseguró que en su futuro puede ver el nombre de Julio César Chávez, pues sería una pelea muy lucrativa para ambos.

“Chávez es un buen peleador, funcionaría una pelea con él por nuestros estilos. Creo que Julio entrenaría muy fuerte para enfrentarme, con eso no quiero decir que para esta no se preparara, pero iría mucho más motivado”, finalizó el peleador que mantiene un récord invicto en 26 encuentros.
